A celebration of Spelman alumnae, resilience, sisterhood, and the enduring spirit of women committed to changing the world.

ATLANTA, GA, UNITED STATES, October 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Sucré Couture, in collaboration with the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College (NAASC), announces the launch of the “Undaunted By The Fight” jewelry pieces, a tribute to the bold spirit, resilience, authenticity, and enduring sisterhood of Spelman alumnae.

Inspired by a notable line from the Spelman Hymn, “Undaunted by the fight,” the pieces draw from a legacy rooted in determination, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to progress.

Founded in April 1881 with a class of just 11 formerly enslaved Black women, Spelman’s earliest students began their educational journey with little more than a Bible and a pencil in their hands. Their story reflects a profound spirit of determination in the face of obstacles and seemingly impossible odds — a legacy that continues to resonate with generations of Spelman women.

The word “Undaunted” has become a powerful expression of that legacy. The Spelman Hymn is sung at events throughout the Spelman community and is often memorized by students during their first week on campus. For generations of Spelmanites, the shortened expression “Undaunted” reinforces a bond and connection to one another while serving as a reminder to stand together and remain committed to doing the work necessary to ignite change.

That sense of connection extends beyond words. The tradition of wearing white dresses, flesh-tone stockings, and black shoes represents another visual expression of Spelmanite identity, honoring the women who came before and connecting generations of alumnae through shared tradition.

Two Jewelry Pieces Rooted in Authenticity

At the heart of the “Undaunted By The Fight” jewelry pieces is bold authenticity. Spelman alumnae have a rich history of showing up as their full selves — refusing to shrink in the face of adversity, inequity, or exclusion. That unapologetic spirit mirrors the essence of the Sucré girl: confident, expressive, distinctive, and unafraid to occupy space.

Through this collaboration, Sucre’ Couture and the NAASC bring those shared themes of confidence, identity, heritage, and sisterhood into jewelry pieces designed to celebrate the boldness of the Spelman woman – from the boardroom to the yard.

The jewelry is designed not simply to accessorize, but to express identity, heritage, sisterhood, and purpose.

The launch also arrives in short succession to Spelman Women Vote, an initiative focused on supporting the movement to mobilize, educate, and prepare voters for elections. The timing reflects a larger truth embedded in the “Undaunted” spirit: while Black women deserve rest, there will always be work to be done for the well-being and advancement of their communities.

As Nicole Y. Williams, Affinity Committee Chair of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College, states:

“We’ll wear door knockers and never stop knocking on doors.”

The sentiment captures the spirit behind the jewelry pieces — a celebration of women who continue to show up, speak up, organize, advocate, and create change.
